America 250:
Celebrating 250 Years of Independence

On July 4, 2026, the United States will commemorate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, marking a historic milestone in our nation’s journey of freedom, self-governance, and civic responsibility.

In recognition of America’s 250th Anniversary, the Clovis Veterans Memorial District, the City of Clovis, and the City of Fresno are working together to host a series of community events, ceremonies, and educational programs leading up to this once-in-a-generation celebration.

Throughout the coming months, residents and visitors will have opportunities to participate in local America 250 events in Clovis and Fresno, designed to reflect on our nation’s founding, celebrate our shared history, and bring neighbors together across generations.

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”

 

The Semiquincentennial of the United States is more than a historic anniversary — it is an opportunity to reflect on the values of liberty, service, and civic pride that continue to shape our communities.
