Army Nurse Corps. Cpt. Sept 1966 - Sept 1968 Bronze Star
I joined the Army Nurse Corps as a Captain in September 1966. Served TDY (Temporary Duty Assignment) for 6 months at Ft. Ord, CA before going to the 24th Evacuation Hospital in Long Binh, Vietnam. I was a staff nurse for 6 months and then became Head nurse for a year.
I was discharged from Vietnam in September 1968. I volunteered for the Vietnam Women's memorial in Washington, D.C. in 1984 and jointed the Women's Overseas Service League [WOSL] the early 1990s. I became a docent for the Vietnam Memorial Museum in fresno in 1994 and also jointed the Sierra Nisei VFW Post and American Legion, Port 4.
